Chieng, who was born in Malaysia and now lives in New York, was criticized by many viewers who called his skit “racist” and “tone deaf.”

In reality, India is geographically nearer than Malaysia to the historically accurate Asia:
so while I tecnically agree that Indians are not "Asian", Malaysians are surely even less "Asian" than Indians!
Not that anyone should even want to be called "Asian", as some woke commenters point out following the line of argument we first developed:
Who cares? Only Indians who lack self-esteem are desperate to be included in the umbrella term. Get over it.
The division lines of Europe and Asia were completely made up and based largely on race and culture by the Europeans. They said, well there is us, white people, then there is them, other than white. Europe and Asia. If they had stuck strictly to the definition of a continent in its physicality, then the continent would be from Portugal to Siberia and from the farthest North in Russia to the tip of India. So, are Indians Asian? It's only because a white person said so.
