Last week, China released new data suggesting that their total trade surplus this year exceeds $1 trillion, more than any other country. In this video, we're taking a look at how this surplus happened, why Trump's tariffs haven't really affected it, and whether it's sustainable.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GoPDabhoyU

Putin is driving a wedge between US and China
China always talks about revenge for the "age of humiliation" in the 1900's.
But Russia invaded China too and took huge terrains in the Manchuria, attacking China when it was already beat up by the west, especially the British.
So, when Xi speaks about revenge or retaliation of these times, especially from western countries,
when will he claim back the Manchuria?
China has definetly a bigger historical claim on that region than on Taiwan.
no one is talking about how weak Russia is now and how China can take this opportunity to get all that land back or all of Russia if they want
Not too many Chinese want to know Russia stole a lot of their territory!!!
I was a Chinese nationale, and lived my younger life there. No one, school, university, tv, radio, told us those history.
As a chinese grew up in China, first time I heard the story.
In fact, that's the Nazi Germany policy wanted to team up with a united China against the Soviet Union.
This isn’t China’s full hand. China’s full hand would be total shutout of access to China’s supply chain for US businesses and coordinated dumping of USD with other countries that are looking to evacuate their reserve positions. People still don’t understand China’s leverageQuoteWhy did China suddenly decide to show its full hand?Quotep.s. anything by @KeithBradsher on China's control over rare earths is worth reading closely. China clearly decided to show its full hand yesterday; it thinks it has the high cards

China has accused the U.S. violating the trade deal that the world's two largest economies signed last month and vowed to take "resolute and forceful measures," per a briefing on Monday morning local time.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/china-claims-u-s-violated-trade-deal-vows-to-hit-trump-admin-with-forceful-measures/ar-AA1FTPGg?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=03157a8538934a8da1f6ac4324a4e735&ei=13
Why it matters: It's the latest sign of deteriorating relations between the two nations after they agreed in Switzerland last month to a 90-day deal to lower tariffs on each other while they negotiated on trade.
President Trump accused Beijing on Friday of violating the agreement, one day after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described negotiations as "a bit stalled."
Driving the news: A Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson said Beijing "firmly rejects these unjustified accusations," per translations of the comments that were carried by state media.
The spokesperson alleged the U.S. had "seriously undermined" and "violated" the trade agreement by issuing "export control guidelines for AI chips, stopping the sale of chip design software (EDA) to China, and announcing the revocation" of visas for Chinese students.
"If the U.S. insists on its own way and continues to damage China's interests, China will continue to take resolute and forceful measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests," unnamed official added, without elaborating further.
The other side: While Trump didn't go into details on his claims that Beijing had "totally violated" the trade deal, administration officials have pointed to delays in sending critical minerals to the U.S., which are needed for American auto, electronics and defense industries, that formed part of the agreement.
"What China is doing is they are holding back products that are essential for the industrial supply chains of India, of Europe, and that is not what a reliable partner does," Bessent said during a Sunday interview on CBS News' "Face the Nation."
What we're watching: U.S. National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett said Sunday he expects Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jingping will hold a phone call this week as part of negotiations.
Bessent said on CBS he's "confident" that the two sides' issues "will be ironed out" once Trump and Xi spoken.
"But the fact that they are withholding some of the products that they agreed to release during our agreement — maybe it's a glitch in the Chinese system, maybe it's intentional," he told CBS' Margaret Brennan. "We'll see after the president speaks with [Xi]."
Beijing had not commented on any plans for a call between the two leaders as of late Sunday.
Representatives for the Trump administration did not immediately respond to Axios' requests for comment on Sunday night.
SINGAPORE (Reuters) -French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday that division between the two superpowers, the United States and China, is the main risk currently confronting the world as he emphasized the need for building new coalitions between Paris and partners in the Indo-Pacific.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/division-between-us-and-china-is-the-biggest-risk-confronting-world-now-frances-macron-says/ar-AA1FMSns
Macron is visiting the region as France and the European Union aim to strengthen their commercial ties in Asia to offset uncertainty over U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff measures.
"I will be clear, France is a friend and an ally of the United States, and is a friend, and we do cooperate - even if sometimes we disagree and compete - with China," said Macron, who was speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue, Asia's premier defence forum, alongside a two-day state visit to Singapore.
The French president said Asia and Europe have a common interest in preventing the disintegration of the global order.
"The time for non-alignment has undoubtedly passed, but the time for coalitions of action has come, and requires that countries capable of acting together give themselves every means to do so," Macron said.
Macron is following leaders of China, Japan and other European countries in visiting the region in recent weeks, in a sign of south east Asia's strategic importance amid uncertainties on global supply chains and trade.

China's representative at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore accused U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth of making “groundless accusations” of rapidly developing threats by Beijing.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/groundless-accusations-china-delegation-rejects-us-secretary-of-state-s-warning-at-singapore-security-forum/vi-AA1FQdjF?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=8b18a7d4094f4914bd4c2038d7a18bcf&ei=15
Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth called on US allies in the Asia-Pacific to boost their defence spending in the face of what he described as a possibly "imminent" threat posed by China. Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue security summit in Singapore, Hegseth said that the US was "here to stay" in the region.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/pentagon-chief-pushes-to-raise-defence-spending-in-face-of-china-threat/vi-AA1FQj4M?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=b51e01e2b7e8493f846cf8bfe5ca028f&ei=16
Nixon's foreign policy with China was brilliant. He really understood the situation and the culture and played it well. China loved Nixon.
And yet today, we basically undid the adversarial relationship between China and Russia and pushed them much closer to each other. What an art of the deal
1. The USSR wanted a divided China the way Korea is divided. Of course China is pissed.
2. The USSR has no qualms using the Chinese as pawns to fight the US.
3. The USSR has territorial disputes with China in Manchuria region which was stolen from China. The Chinese must be thinking :" Huh, the audacity of these goddamn Soviets to dispute our position on territory which once belonged to China before the Russian Empire forced us to sign it away !"
4. The USSR wanted to station multiple military bases in China, a request which China vehemently rejected. The Chinese must be thinking : " Woah, these greedy bastards. After the Russian Empire stolen so much land from China, now it's successor state the USSR wants to station their military in our land so that they can control us."
5 . After the fallout in relations due to the overbearing USSR, the USSR tried to turn North Korea, Myanmar, Vietnam and India against China.
5. The USSR even threatened to invade China or nuke China.
Not too many Chinese want to know Russia stole a lot of their territory!!!
It's surprising China is supporting Russia today, instead of taking some part of Siberia where billion(s) of Chinese could find vast spaces and natural resources for industry.
especially that Russia is pretty weak now

A new world order is emerging as the old one declines. A wide swath of countries in Asia—including China, Indonesia, and U.S.-occupied South Korea and Japan—announced a joint project to build up Asian trade infrastructure and reduce Western dependence. Brian Becker and Professor Richard Wolff discuss this comprehensive plan as a response to Trump’s tariffs and trade war.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1iRzAUnENI
