'Boots on the ground should not be be off the table' Ben Hodges interview | DW News
Quote
In this exclusive interview with DW's Ines Pohl, retired US Army officer Ben Hodges discusses German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's announcement that there are British troops in Ukraine before the UK has announced it, and why it seems inadvisable for Scholz to rule out Germany sending its own troops to Ukraine. Hodges also touches on the oft-mentioned subject of what the chances really are that Putin would deploy his nuclear arsenal.

Macron didn't say we should send troops to Ukraine, he said he couldn't rule out the possibility.
Quote
Macron specifically said there was no consensus in Europe about the possibility of sending troops, but that he thinks we should keep this open. This journalist keeps misrepresenting what was said.
Quote
This is the most frank, sensible and straightforward interview I have watched since a couple of months.  Thank you all for sharing your insights.  Now, if only our politicians and bureaucrats would follow suit.
Quote
I feel sorry for Scholz... definitely a softy for the good times, but way out of his depth when times get tough.

How soon can a NATO-Russia war happen?
Quote
It's a mistake to assume that the war in Ukraine must end before Russia can be a threat to NATO. This idea is built on a paradox, and it doesn't take into account the question of Europe's limited defense resources. On the contrary, a Russian attack on NATO could be a way to improve their chances in Ukraine.

What does EU mean in military?

the European Union

The European army or EU army are terms for a hypothetical army of the European Union which would supersede the Common Security and Defence Policy and would go beyond the proposed European Defence Union. Currently, there is no such army, and defence is a matter for the member states.

Don't forget, the Russians took Outer Manchuria from China in the early 1900. Vladivostok was known as  Yongmingcheng when it was in the Outer Manchurian state of China. The Chinese have actually changed to the original Chinese name on their modern maps. Using Russian logic to invade Ukraine, China could invade eastern Russia and take back Outer Manchuria.

Quote
China would have an easier time taking Siberia than they would Taiwan.

Quote
wait until Russia is further weakened in Ukraine, probably this summer.  taking back Manchuria, which they claim is historically Chinese(same excuse Russia used for Ukraine), and the eastern oblasks would give China....
1. control of huge reserves of oil, gas, and water that they are badly in need of
2. access to the north pacific via petropovlask and the Kamcheka peninsula, bypassing the first island chain, making a war for Taiwan less important/urgent

Quote
China's astounding advantage in manpower would be decisive.  Even if Russia managed to drag China into a war of attrition (Russia's typical defensive posture), China wins a war of attrition.

Quote
Cmon, it’s obvious given the short supply lines China would be able to take the eastern cities such as Vladivostok

Quote
If China took Siberia that would transform China into a juggernaut, as its biggest weakness is it relies on overseas shipping to maintain itself, a weakness that the US has exploited by building bases around the area so they could block it to greatly damage their economy.

But with Siberia which is incredibly rich in natural resources such as Oil, minerals, timber etc. that weakness disappears plus China will now have alternate routes for coastal trade.

Gen Z not "mature enough" for conscription if there is a world war

U.K. army chief says citizens should be ready to fight in possible land war
Quote
London - U.K. civilians should be ready to fight in a hypothetical land war, the head of the British army, Gen. Patrick Sanders, said Wednesday, warning that the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine showed it was "citizen armies" that make the difference in conflicts. He said the British military is currently too small to respond to the threats emerging in a changing world.

"Taking preparatory steps to enable placing our societies on a war footing when needed are now not merely desirable but essential," Sanders said in a speech. "Our friends in eastern and northern Europe, who feel the proximity of the Russian threat more acutely, are already acting prudently, laying the foundations for national mobilization."

The U.K. army is currently estimated to include around 75,000 fully trained professional soldiers, and there are another 60,000 service members in the British navy and air force.

The U.K. spends around 2% of its gross domestic product on its military. Though the British government says that will increase to 2.5%, Sanders, who has long argued for more military spending, said the army should grow to a standing force of around 120,000 soldiers by 2027, and even that "is not enough."

"Ukraine brutally illustrates that regular armies start wars; citizen armies win them," Sanders said...

Pakistanis have been brainwashed in the name of Islam since 1947 while their secular pro western elites, especially in the Pakistani Army have all their assets in London or other Western countries.
For 60 years India was ruled by the Congress (Gandhians, Nehruvians) which promoted false ideas of secularism and "diversity" within India which merely created more communal divisions between muslims and Hindus.
Pakistanis dreaming to wipe out Hindus, it is an old dream and they failed miserably at it. They ruled India for 1000 years and failed at it. British colonialism failed wiping out Hinduism and dharmic religions. They are far more Aryans than even Islam and christianiaty which though anti jewish have many of their core foundations based on judaism and jewish toxic ideas. Since 2014 With BJP and Modi India has regained and is regaining its former dharmic glory slowly and steadily.
As for Hindu Survivalism vs Islamic Militarism, the entire concept of Ghazwa e Hind Pakistan dreams of is a concept devised by the British with whom the Pakistani Army keeps close ties with till date and Pakistan is still deeply colonized nation, while India is moving more ahead.
But BJP and Modi ji, while having made a progress in improving India US ties (which in the Congress Ruled India was INDIA USSR brotherhood) has failed to see the reality of Israel.

The biggest mistake India made was to establish diplomatic relations with Israel after improving India-US ties via liberalization (in addition to getting rid of the few remnants of autocracy from the previous governments). I hope improvements in US-China relations will provide a chance for India to become autocratic, as this would signify that one can maintain good relations with the US without being democratic. Similarly, if the US turns anti-Israel, it can influence India to turn anti-Zionist as well.

"How would you enforce it? telling everyone you dislike that they will simply not be able to have children is a sure way to make them dislike your movement."
We have never claimed that the Aryanist ideal will be a popular one. Quite the contrary.

"Anyways what culture are we talking about here?"
I definitely agree that the Chinese culture that the Xinjiang Muslims are being assimilated into is far from a noble one. For example, I have even heard reports that the Uyghurs are being forced to eat pork and drink alcohol! But I never claimed that this is the culture that we should impose onto the Kashmiris. I was merely praising the methods. I should also note, that there are plenty of non-fundamentalist Muslims in other parts of China who to the best of my knowledge are not being persecuted. My main issue with the fundamentalists is that (in the case of China) they are threatening the integrity of the state, or (in the case of India) justify their ignoble behaviors (e.g. beef-eating) and bigoted attitudes (Kashmiri society is extremely racist).

Also, about the Uyghurs (who claim Xinjiang is actually "East Turkestan"), for the record:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkestan#Etymology_and_terminology
Quote
Known as Turan to the Persians, western Turkestan has also been known historically as Sogdia, "Ma wara'u'n-nahr" (by its Arab conquerors), and Transoxiana by western travelers. The latter two names refer to its position beyond the River Oxus when approached from the south, emphasizing Turkestan's long-standing relationship with Iran, the Persian Empires, and the Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates.

Oghuz Turks (also known as Turkmens), Kyrgyzs, Uzbeks, Kazakhs, Khazars, Uyghurs, and Hazaras are some of the Turkic inhabitants of the region who, as history progressed, have spread further into Eurasia forming such Turkic nations as Turkey, and subnational regions like Tatarstan in Russia and Crimea in Ukraine. Tajiks and Russians form sizable non-Turkic minorities.

It is subdivided into Afghan Turkestan and historical Russian Turkestan in the west, and Chinese Turkestan or East Turkestan.

"forcible assimilation"
No. Those who fail to adopt to the culture will simply be prohibited from reproducing. In contrast, it is the communist who would say that the subjects should be forced to adopt using torture.
How would you enforce it? telling everyone you dislike that they will simply not be able to have children is a sure way to make them dislike your movement.
Anyways what culture are we talking about here? i'm talking about the "culture", the agenda that permeates modern day china which you invoked when you talked about Xinjiang and by extension their treatment of muslims, this is not some CIA propaganda ops, lest you sound like deluded russophiles who deny the atrocities of the communists against muslims, pretending like this is a sort of "model" for a noble state that could be applied elsewhere makes you lose a lot of credibility. Compare the treatment of muslims in china to the treatment in ww2 germany, no doubt there were racists and tribalists too but i didn't see any muslims being brought to the camps, because there was no need to rebel against a state that fights for you. China, instead, tries to appease all the western occupiers and the eastern countries that larp as western by fighting their own little "war on terror".
