Does anyone else here feel nostalgia for specific chapters of one's life?
Even when I was a very young, I was constantly melancholIC over the passing of every periods in my life, and this continues for me to this day. I'll look back and immerse myself in how life felt during a particular holiday, season, year. Or times when I lived in a certain area, spoke to certain people, saw and smelled certain sights and aromas each "era" had a special energy in the air that was unique to that particular period.
The nostalgia can hit me in the face out of nowhere too. There used to times I'd be miserable at work, and then all the smell of leaves in the breeze will remind me of a time I was more free. I think nostalgia is important for remembering who you are, because sometimes, the people we were are today are totally different than the people we are now. Forget that, and you forget yourself.

Continuing from a private DM with Retro. Flash games were the early 2000s version of arcade games, and superior to most of the console games that have come out in recent memory due to their simplistic design and 2D visuals.

These Gulf Arab countries are getting exactly what they deserve. They host US bases for "protection", but now they're clearly a liability. For one, the US is not protecting them from missiles at all. And two, there wouldn't be any in the first place if they didn't get cozy with Westerners!

Saying "whites" are the only ones who believe in Veganism is just plain ignorant. Even if a "non-white" country is empirically measured to have a low amount of Vegans, the fact is that most non-Western countries don't eat meat every single day the way Westerners do. Because of that, there's a sort of de-facto Vegetarianism.

Not gonna lie, this is actually pretty smart in that its a simple solution that would easily fix a complicated problem with enough time. The forest doesn't necessarily have to be razed; just flow the Sunlight toward the more beautiful ecologies in them, allowing them to eventually dominate the entire ecosystem.

This reminded me of some old sandals I still have. Thinking of it now, would you agree that sandals are more earthly and non-Western than conventional shoes are?

Yes absolutely. What's worse is when people buy clothing that are already (performatively) damaged, making the inauthenticity even more lazy. Even working class baseball caps aren't spared. Gone are the weatherworn and well-seasoned hats people have worn on the job since they were teenagers, now truck stops sell hats with an insincerely made "grimy" look to them fresh off the shelf. It used to be commonly understood that Counterculture requires commitment and authenticity. What happened? Posers must die.
Going back to this thread's topic, may I risk a rare Counterculture stamp of approval for this one?

Even if you and I may not like how the song sounds itself, when it came out it felt noteworthy for a popular song's message to be a lighthearted passion for thrift. Its just a breath of fresh air compared to most of what's out there today.
