"I'm not sure about such a general statement. They often hug both men and women; do you think they are flirting with both?"
"Whites" only view women as sexual goys, so any interaction between "White" men and "non-White" women I am suspicious of.
"A more sensible criticism would be that since this is a Hindu wedding, guests should not bring in Western manners."
Even in India, where there are a marginal number of "Whites" we still find Western attitudes in weddings, like friends shaking hands with the newlyweds to congratulate them (shaking hands is an unhygienic Western concept btw), Western clothing (specifically only for the male, i.e suit and tie) for the wedding reception, etc. I can show you many wedding reception photos where the woman is wearing a saree but the man is wearing a suit and tie...
I am also of the opinion that "Whites" should not be invited at all to Hindu weddings, but I don't know if that is an extreme position.
"But this is not your wedding....."
I know, but I am saying if it was, hypothetically, and I were the groom.
"Can you elaborate on which particular progressive attitudes she has displayed?"
I mentioned earlier she was promoting the availability of alternatives to meat that taste like meat to get Westerners to give up meat. Is this not the progressive attitude of wanting to convert meat-eating Westerners to veganism, as we discussed earlier? But I suppose even this is a better form of activism to reduce animal cruelty in the short term as opposed to just sitting on your ass and doing nothing IRL.
