Kid Rock, born Robert James Ritchie, supported Mitt Romney and Ben Carson before eventually joining team Trump. Jello Biafra from The Dead Kennedys explains how this confederate flag lover became Donald Trump's golf buddy.
Contrary to what his songs say, Kid Rock did not grow up in a trailer park, he grew up in a middle-class suburb outside of Detroit. After realizing he couldn't be black, he decided to leave the rap game and instead focus on Southern rock and heavy metal and waving the Confederate flag at his shows. He also, at one point, was going to run for the U.S. Senate in Michigan. We can't make that up.
