I don't understand why Iran is bothering with even trying a ceasefire. This will only give Israel a chance to restock its interceptors, and then Iran will have to start depleting them from full stock all over again. It would be so much more economical to continue missile barrages until the Iron Dome etc. are completely down, whereupon further barrages will get to damage Israel orders of magnitude more heavily than current barrages.

Iran tried to pressure Thailand to pull 40K farm workers from Israel in exchange for Oct. 7 hostages: report
Quote
Iran reportedly hatched a covert plan to leverage Thailand into pulling tens of thousands of farm workers out of Israel in exchange for securing dozens of Thai hostages taken by Hamas on Oct. 7.

The Islamic Republic tried to broker the brazen powerplay in the weeks following the horrific 2023 attack that saw 39 Thai citizens killed and 31 more abducted by the terror group — including Sudthisak Rinthalak, whose remains were finally turned over to Israeli officials on Dec. 3, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Overall, three Thai workers were murdered either on Oct. 7, or while in Hamas’ captivity.

With nearly 40,000 Thai laborers living in Israel at the time, the deal would have would have put intense economic pressure on the Jewish state — possibly crippling food production with long-term repercussions, the report stated.

Bangkok went so far as to send diplomats to Tehran to meet with both Iranian officials and representatives of Hamas, including Mousa Abu Marzouk of Hamas’ political bureau.

Thailand ultimately walked away from the deal, as 23 of the 31 hostages were released within weeks of being abducted during a short-lived cease-fire.

By mid-2024, Bangkok had renegend diplomatic ties with Israel, the outlet reported.

Eight more Thai captives were returned over the course of the two-year war.

Rinthalak, one of the last remaining hostages to be returned, was working on a farm near the Gaza border when the terror group abducted him.

He was laid to rest in his home country this week.

Iran announces return of nationals from US and slams "racist actions" of Trump administration
Quote
"In the coming days, around 50 to 55 Iranian nationals will return," the spokesperson for Iran's foreign ministry, Esmaeil Baqaei, said during his weekly press conference.

"This is the second group in recent months to be returned to Iran."

According to CNN, the group is expected to arrive in Iran later on Sunday, after a stopover in Kuwait.

Baqaei in his remarks slammed what he called US "racist actions against foreign nationals – particularly citizens of our region, and especially Iranians".

"Regarding Iranians, it is evident to us that these pressures are politically motivated and that these anti-immigration policies conflict with human rights laws," he added.

Baqaei said that, under significant pressure from the relevant US authorities, the "around 50 to 55" individuals approached the Iranian Interests Section in Washington and "expressed their willingness to return to their homeland".

Iran and the US do not have formal diplomatic relations, but Tehran maintains an office within the Pakistani embassy in Washington which deals with consular issues.

Donald Trump's administration this week paused green card and citizenship processing for nationals from 19 countries, including Iran, already subject to travel restrictions announced in June.

In September, Iran said 120 of its nationals were deported from the US, according to foreign ministry consular affairs official Hossein Noushabadi talking to Tasnim news agency.

He then said "the US immigration service has decided to deport around 400 Iranians currently in the United States, most of them after entering illegally."

Of course:

The really disturbing thing is that Trump (probably accurately) estimates that it would be worse for his reputation for the Western public to see what he was doing on Epstein's island* than for the Western public to see him support Israel initiating violence on a mass scale*. This tells you a lot about Western values*.

(* Note that the Epstein employees pictured with Trump are overwhelmingly "white" whereas Netanyahu's victims are overwhelmingly "non-white".)

Fundamentally, it is the absurd and uniquely Western notion of "age of consent" that allows Israel/Russia/etc. to blackmail Trump using Epstein content in the first place. But of course False Leftist Kulinski will not discuss this.
