https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5Bm36eUllEIf sanctions worked, Russia would have given back Crimea by now:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annexation_of_Crimea_by_the_Russian_Federation#SanctionsIn response to the sanctions introduced by the US and EU, the Russian Duma unanimously passed a resolution asking for all members of the Duma to be included on the sanctions list.[408] Head of the Just Russia party Sergei Mironov said he was proud of being included on the sanctions list: "It is with pride that I have found myself on the black list, this means they have noticed my stance on Crimea."[409] Russian companies started pulling billions of dollars out of Western banks to avoid any asset freeze.[410]
It hasn't, because they don't. Russia is not afraid of sanctions, period. The sooner we accept this, the sooner the discussion can proceed to what measures (e.g. WMDs) are required to actually stop Russia. The longer NATO keeps talking about sanctions, the more I get the feeling that no one actually wants to stop Russia. Sanctions are nothing but performative gestures by NATO to set itself up to eventually say, "See? We tried!" and then absolve itself of having to do anything serious until next time. And when next time comes, NATO responds with..... more sanctions! Repeat as many times as necessary until Duginism wins?
