BREAKING: Germany to help arm Ukraine
Quote
Germany says it will supply Ukraine with 1,000 anti-tank weapons and 500 Stinger surface-to-air missiles to use against Russia.

Berlin had been criticised for its refusal to give weapons to help Kyiv defend itself against the Russia invasion.

In a reversal of its position, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said: "The Russian invasion of Ukraine marks a turning point.

"It is our duty to do our best to support Ukraine in defending itself against Putin's invading army."

For a military that was only created in 2014 Ukrainians are putting up a pretty good fight so far from what I'm seeing.

Quote
Boris Johnson made a speech at the Ukrainian Cathedral of the Holy Family in Mayfair, London on Sunday evening in which he told the congregation the UK “cannot shut our eyes” to the country’s plight following the Russian invasion.

'I think that's a distraction from the reality of what's going on in Ukraine. This is an innocent people who are facing a totally unprovoked act of aggression against them. And what's actually happening is that they are fighting back, perhaps with more effect, with more resistance than the Kremlin had bargained for. And I think that is what is really going on, and you can see some of the logistical difficulties that the Russian forces are experiencing. You can see and I think the Russian Defence Ministry have themselves conceded that they're having casualties. This is a disastrous misbegotten venture by President Putin. It can lead to no good whatever for Russia, as we in the West have said continuously from the beginning. It needs to end. If he has a proposal to negotiate and withdraw, then all the better.''

''Look, what's happening on the European continent is an absolute catastrophe. President Putin has decided to wage a war of choice against the people of Ukraine he's inflicting untold misery, violence suffering on a completely innocent population. If he wants to stop, if he wants to withdraw, if he wants to negotiate, that's very good news. I have my doubts. I've got to tell you it's nothing I've seen so far in his behaviour that leads me to think that he could possibly be sincere. But if he is, then we should pursue every avenue. But clearly, what needs to happen is he needs to withdraw his war machine from Ukraine.''

With the following story, it is a good time to remind everyone that our hostility towards Russia should not lead to positive bias towards Ukrainians:

https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/because-know-racism-rears-ugly-150339684.html

Quote
BECAUSE YOU SHOULD KNOW: Racism Rears Its Ugly Head In War-Ridden Ukraine

Because you should know, on the third day of Russia’s mindless attack on Ukraine, it seems racism and white supremacy has reared its head. The unfortunate hashtag #AfricansinUkraine is trending on social media after multiple videos were tweeted claiming to show discrimination toward Africans in Ukraine who are among legions of humans scrambling for safety.
...
“Some people have gone to get buses, but they’re not allowing Black people basically onto the buses. They’re prioritizing Ukrainians. That’s what they say,” A woman named Sky told the platform, as she and her fiancé made their way to Poland by car.

Another post is consistent with those reports and is said to show Ukrainian officials denying a group of Africans from boarding a train while preference was given to those who were white Ukrainian citizens.

A host of other tweets from Nze @Nzekiev showed Africans being threatened with firearms and motor vehicles by Ukrainian military and police:

They actually wanted to crush us with their bus, and even pointed guns at us while we were shouting “we are students, allow us to cross”

@CNN @guardian @guardiannews @BBCWorld @nytimes @AlJazeera_World why are you not reporting the racism against blacks at the Ukraine/Poland border?

Plenty of Ukrainians are racists. I still hope they succeed in killing as many Russians as possible (and support arming them to do so), but I am not in the least bothered by themselves dying in the process.

African students trapped in Ukraine say they face extra challenges as they try to escape the war, including being blocked from getting off trains or barred from crossing borders to neighbouring countries.

“My boyfriend is stuck in Ukraine and his phone is not reachable for the past two days. The last time we spoke he said he’s waiting for the train from Lviv to Poland, ” said a Nigerian woman who asked to go just by her first name, Precious. “He said they didn’t allow them to board the train. Only white people [could] and his phone had low battery so he had to go offline.”
...
‘Racist officers’

In less than 24 hours, more than €23,500 was raised by organisers who connected on Twitter. “There are still many black students and families who live and work in Ukraine who are stuck there,” the description for the campaign read. “Many more have made it to Poland to face horrific anti-blackness and racist Ukrainian and Polish soldiers and police officers.”

One Nigerian medical student, who had been studying in Dnipro and asked not to be named, said the British students he studied with were bused to the Polish border by university authorities, while Africans were left behind. By Sunday he was driving in a four-car convoy towards Romania, where they heard they would be allowed to cross. “The black students, the African students are completely neglected. We are humans too,” he said.

So it's not even about Ukrainians getting better treatment than foreigners in general. Some foreigners appear to be receiving good treatment! I wonder why?

Hundreds of German Soldiers, Military Vehicles Arrive at Lithuanian NATO Base
Quote
A German army convoy of 130 soldiers and 60 vehicles reached Lithuania on Thursday, bringing almost half of the planned reinforcements for the country's German-led NATO battlegroup amid fears of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.

U.S. President Joe Biden said Thursday there was now every indication Russia was planning to invade Ukraine, including signs Moscow was carrying out a false flag operation to provide a pretext, after Ukrainian government forces and pro-Moscow separatists traded fire.

The reinforcements will arrive until the end of the week, bolstering German forces in Lithuania by more than 350 soldiers and 100 vehicles, according to battlegroup commander Lieutenant-Colonel Daniel Andrae.

Every time a country gives them up, they get invaded...

Why Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons — and what that means in an invasion by Russia

Three decades ago, the newly independent country of Ukraine was briefly the third-largest nuclear power in the world.

Thousands of nuclear arms had been left on Ukrainian soil by Moscow after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. But in the years that followed, Ukraine made the decision to completely denuclearize.

In exchange, the U.S., the U.K. and Russia would guarantee Ukraine's security in a 1994 agreement known as the Budapest Memorandum.

Communists and...this guy team up to support Russia:

Televangelist Pat Robertson came out of retirement on Monday to declare that Russian President Vladimir Putin is following God’s wishes by violently invading Ukraine, insisting this is a step towards a global “End Times” battle in Israel.

In order to win the End Times battle against Israel, we need NATO on our side. Russia will not win against Israel-NATO. Despite many Communist communities that I've seen being staunchly anti-Israel, they love Duginism more than they hate Israeli apartheid...

Nigeria's government has condemned reports that its citizens, and those of other African countries, have been stopped from leaving war-torn Ukraine.

Isaac, a Nigerian man trying to get into Poland, said border staff told him they were "not tending to Africans".

"We've been chased back, we've been hit with police armed with sticks," he told the BBC.

South African foreign office official Clayson Monyela also said students had been "badly treated" at the border.

There have also been numerous reports of Ukrainian security officials preventing Africans from catching buses and trains going to the border.
...
University student Ruqqaya, from Nigeria, was studying medicine in Kharkiv in the east of the country when the city was attacked. She walked for 11 hours overnight before she arrived at the Medyka crossing with Poland.

"When I came here there were black people sleeping on the street," she told the BBC.

She says she was told by armed guards to wait as Ukrainians had to be let through first. She watched busloads of people, whom she described as white, being allowed through the border
...
Asya, a medical student from Somalia studying in Kyiv, had a similar account. When she finally reached Poland, she said she was told "accommodation at the hotel was only for Ukrainians".

We should wait until the Ukrainians are exhausted from fighting the Russians and then bomb Ukraine (and Poland) ourselves (after evacuating the victims of racism above, of course)!
