You've probably heard rightist testosterone junkies boast about being on the top of the food chain.

In fact, biologically, parasites are on the top of the food chain, since they are predators of humans, lions, and other species which are misleadingly labelled "apex predators". In fact, parasites that infect other parasites are even higher on the food chain. Viruses that infect the parasite are even higher (although, technically viruses are a type of parasite as well). Viruses that infect other viruses are higher still.

Quote
A hyperparasite is a parasite whose host, often an insect, is also a parasite,[2]

Quote
Virophages are small, double-stranded DNA viral phages that require the co-infection of another virus. The co-infecting viruses are typically giant viruses. Virophages rely on the viral replication factory of the co-infecting giant virus for their own replication. One of the characteristics of virophages is that they have a parasitic relationship with the co-infecting virus. Their dependence upon the giant virus for replication often results in the deactivation of the giant viruses.

So, remember this when some tribalist boasts that they are at the top of the food chain.

@Mazda Deep sea fish are always...something else. If I were swimming in the water and a telescope fish brushed against my leg, my soul would literally leave my body. I know they can't help their appearance, though

I think the go-to content for this thread would be the lifecycle of Ichneumon Wasps (the wasps that supposedly made Darwin lose his faith) and perhaps some reading on "Traumatic Insemination" and "Parasitic Castration".

"I own that I cannot see as plainly as others do, and as I should wish to do, evidence of design and beneficence on all sides of us. There seems to me too much misery in the world. I cannot persuade myself that a beneficent and omnipotent God would have designedly created the Ichneumonidae with the express intention of their feeding within the living bodies of Caterpillars, or that a cat should play with mice."

This isn't a constructive topic to dwell too much upon, but itis important to keep a few examples such as these in mind when False-Leftists preach of conservation and sustainability - and when Demiurge worshippers give their opinion on anything at all.

Rabies: 100% Fatal
Quote
Rabies is a deadly cross-species transfer virus spread to people, typically through the saliva of infected animals. The virus is known to kill around 60,000 per year, with virtually no survivors after symptoms have been detected. Although an estimated 6 to 29 (unconfirmed) people have survived the virus, the odds of death after symptoms occur is roughly 99.996%.

Feeling especially bored and repulsive the time they thought these up? Chews the fishes tongue off, then basically eats the fishes food for it and then **** down the fishes throat as a bonus.

I like how the narrator starts with, "If you think your life sucks just be glad you're not this fish!".
