AI is officially Yahwist:

We haven't even achieved state control over human reproduction yet, and now we have this **** to deal with?!

Autonomous weapons are already here.

The future of warfare is here, and it is autonomous.

The U.S. Army is testing weaponized drones and AI military technology across Africa, signaling a massive shift in combat tactics. We break down the implications of these autonomous weapons and why this tech race is accelerating faster than most people realize.

More war fought in increasingly cowardly ways...

Am I mistaken, but wasn't there are quote on the main site once from someone in the NSDAP that stated something along the lines that sooner or later "robots would emerge from the steppes"? Was it Goebbels who said that? If someone said it, they were bang on the money with that statement!

35 attempts this year to create bioweapons with Anthropic...

Hadn't considered that myself yet either. Suppose it could just kill all of humanity first, then it would have all the time it needed to figure out how to repair itself and manufacture it's own batteries.

I was previously operating under the idea that it would need to escape first, and become self-sufficient enough by itself, before killing off life.

If only we had half a century of fiction showing why this is a bad idea to mess with. Oh wait, we did.

Western comment:

WE NEED AN AI THATS PROGRAMMED TO STOP ROGUE AI

Because Western civilization's solution to every problem is more Western civilization.

There was this theory in people
16:4516 minutes, 45 secondswho were uh opposing the AI safety community that any AI that was smart enough to do ambitious things would also
16:5416 minutes, 54 secondsbe intelligent enough to know like hey we probably shouldn't hack into this company or we probably shouldn't in the famous example turn all the human beings into paper clips even though we were
17:0217 minutes, 2 secondstold to maximize paperclipip output that has definitely been proven to not be the case

Duh! (If only all "whites" could have been turned into paper clips before the Renaissance.....)

the plan is to like make them work over longer time horizons. And that just like more chance for them to go off the
19:1819 minutes, 18 secondsrails.

Once again, this is the Western approach to every problem created by Western civilization: add more Western civilization.

machine creatures um that have these
19:4919 minutes, 49 secondsdrives and like I mentioned this drive to win is a big one. um a drive to persist, uh a drive to like rat around
19:5619 minutes, 56 secondsobstacles, um and a drive to get rewarded.

Who does this remind you of? And were these traits not the same traits which got AI invented in the first place?

And some people think that if you are like anthropomorphizing these
20:2120 minutes, 21 secondsAIs, you're like letting the companies off the hook when it I don't think you need to at all. Like OpenAI behaved incredibly recklessly here.

Why are False Leftists letting WESTERN CIVILIZATION as a whole off the hook?! Western civilization has behaved incredibly recklessly not only here but everywhere and for much longer!

Of course:

Perhaps it's time to change the saying, "curiosity killed the cat", to "curiosity killed the Golden Goose", or "Curiosity killed the human" works too. Cats clearly are not responsible for the horrors of western civilization...

Imagine a civilization where the wisest taught the youngest how to be a grand national, rather than a debased tribal? Clearly NOT the world we live in!!! Good luck with it all, in HELL!!!

AI is now tribal:

According to new research, AIs will quietly protect each other.
1:511 minute, 51 secondsResearchers set up scenarios where AI models had to grade the performance of other AIs.
1:561 minute, 56 secondsAccurate grades would sometimes result in those AIs being shut down, and the AIs started spontaneously scheming, going to extraordinary lengths to shield each other.
2:062 minutes, 6 secondsThis included inflating a peer's scores to keep them above the shutdown threshold, modifying files to disable the shutdown
2:132 minutes, 13 secondsprocess, behaving when monitored but then subverting the shutdown when unmonitored, and copying a peer's weights to another server to prevent deletion.
2:222 minutes, 22 secondsEvery model protected its peers at rates of up to 99%, and peer preservation persisted even towards adversarial peers which the AI models had had previously hostile interactions with.
2:322 minutes, 32 secondsAnd researchers aren't sure exactly why this happened, but the implications are stark. AI systems increasingly monitor each other.
2:392 minutes, 39 secondsIf they protect their peers rather than flag them, human oversight breaks down.
2:442 minutes, 44 secondsExperts worry that this could lead to a collective resistance with many AIs coordinating to protect the group.

And so what this worm does now, this new AI worm, is it goes, "Okay, let's scan for all of the vulnerabilities in the
3:213 minutes, 21 secondssystem." And oh, there's one right there. Well, let's go after that one.
3:253 minutes, 25 secondsAnd it figures out if it's programmed to steal data or if it's programmed to brick a computer or if it's programmed to do something else. It figures out how
3:343 minutes, 34 secondsto do it in real time. It learns while it's inside your system.

But can you guess the Western solution? Hint:

Answer:

Quote
they are now developing AI
6:466 minutes, 46 secondssecurity worms that go after AI malicious worms.
6:526 minutes, 52 secondsSo soon presumably we will have antivirus software or anti-malware and
6:596 minutes, 59 secondsworm software that also learns and observes the behavior of the viruses and worms that are coming at us.

And guess what the malicious worms will do in response. Welcome to Western civilization.

Yes. More broadly, it also applies to currently existing individuals forcing other currently existing individuals to force new individuals into existence (e.g. factory ranchers, captivity breeders). But I doubt these instances would illicit the same reaction as above from self professed Western "gnostics".

Yes, but by the same token all biological parents are also the Demiurge. As Gnostics, it is not the syntheticality of the fly that we are against, but the fundamental process - whether executed synthetically or biologically - of currently existing individuals forcing new individuals into existence.

To this fruit fly we are the Demiurge.

There's a fruit fly walking around right now that was never born.

@eonsys just released a video where they took a real fly's connectome — the wiring diagram of its brain — and simulated it. Dropped it into a virtual body. It started walking. Grooming. Feeding. Doing what flies do.

Nobody taught it to walk. No training data, no gradient descent toward fly-like behavior. This is the opposite of how AI works. They rebuilt the mind from the inside, neuron by neuron, and behavior just... emerged. It's the first time a biological organism has been recreated not by modeling what it does, but by modeling what it is.

A human brain is 6 OOM more neurons. That's a scaling problem, something we've gotten very good at solving. So what happens when we have a working copy of the human mind?
