Promoting southern Chinese (and even Vietnamese) culture would also be a good way to improve Sino-Indian relations. For example, the prominence of Buddhism in Vietnam shows an alternative to the atheistic, materialistic, aggressiveness of the CCP mainland culture. I have even heard some Indians, who speak negatively of Chinese mainlanders, will speak positively about Vietnamese.
