11 year old gets physics degree, says he'll use it to attain immortality
https://futurism.com/11-year-old-physics-degree-immortality/amp
Quote
A 11-year-old boy from Belgium just graduated from the University of Antwerp with a bachelor’s degree in physics, local newspaper De Telegraaf reports — and with the highest distinction.

“I don’t really care if I’m the youngest,” Laurent Simons told the newspaper, as translated by Newsweek. “It’s all about getting knowledge for me.”

It’s an astonishing achievement — and in an eyebrow-raising twist, Simons says he plans to live forever, by turning himself into a cyborg.

This is what happens you allow subhumans to reproduce.

Before he becomes a cyborg, he can be stopped simply with a bullet. After he becomes a cyborg, it will not be so easy anymore. So do we wait for him to become a cyborg? The answer should be obvious.

Can you imagine what Trump could have pulled off with the help of an AI? This is the scenario Westerners are setting up for the rest of humanity. Selling it to you using disabled people too. No shame....

Brain chips aim to revolutionize tech by merging humans, computers
Quote
ABC News’ Kaylee Hartung reports on brain-computer interface (BCI), which could help paralyzed people by turning thoughts to movement, and potentially change mankind’s relationship with technology.

Westerners don't listen and think much either:

Well, I wouldn't call implanting a computer chip in your brain a "free relation to technology". Good luck with it though, you all clearly know what you're doing after-all. The fact that your societies are in decay and collapse shouldn't stop you from merging with machines obviously....  ???

AI and genetic splicing are both looking more and more like "the ring" from LOTR. Only time will tell if those who get their hands on the ring will destroy it (i.e. non-Westerners) or will try to benefit themselves with it (i.e. Westerners).

Amazing how Boromir's analogy is becoming more and more relevant by the day, particularly with the advent of new technologies. Also amazing how it applies even in the context of non-Zionist ideologies.

In the 80s, people thought killer robots and all-powerful AI were right around the corner. It took a few generations longer than anticipated, but that is where we are now...

How AI is driving a future of autonomous warfare
Quote
The artificial intelligence revolution is just getting started. But it is already transforming conflict. Militaries all the way from the superpowers to tiny states are seizing on autonomous weapons as essential to surviving the wars of the future. But this mounting arms-race dynamic could lead the world to dangerous places, with algorithms interacting so fast that they are beyond human control. Uncontrolled escalation, even wars that erupt without any human input at all.

DW maps out the future of autonomous warfare, based on conflicts we have already seen – and predictions from experts of what will come next.

For more on the role of technology in future wars, check out the extended version of this video – which includes a blow-by-blow scenario of a cyber attack against nuclear weapons command and control systems:

EU Commission selects Human Brain Project, with Israelis as partners
Quote
The European Commission has chosen the Human Brain Project, in which the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is participating, as one of two Future and Emerging Technologies Flagship topics. The enterprise will receive funding of 1.19 billion euros over the next decade.

The project will bring together top scientists from around the world who will work on one of the great challenges of modern science: understanding the human brain. Participating from Israel will a team of eight scientists, led by Prof. Idan Segev of the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences (ELSC) at the Hebrew University, Prof. Yadin Dudai of the Weizmann Institute of Science, and Dr. Mira Marcus-Kalish of Tel Aviv University.

One major purpose of the Human Brain Project is to collate information about the brain from various advanced research approaches and make it possible to build models of brain activity through the use of powerful supercomputers. This will enable the attainment of a deeper understanding of the brain and its illnesses, and at the same time make possible development of powerful computer technologies and brain-driven robotics.

More than 80 universities and research institutions in Europe and the world will be involved in the ten-year Human Brain Project, which will commence later this year and operate until the year 2023. The project will be centered at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland, headed by Prof. Henry Markram, a former Israeli who was recruited ten years ago to the EPFL.

You weren't exaggerating when you said destroying Israel alone would greatly reduce technical proficiency, huh

Re: Western civilization = sustainable evil

205 billion dollars can't buy him any sense.

Quote
Jeff Bezos said in an interview hours after flying to suborbital space on Tuesday that there are "no words" to adequately describe the experience, but that it reinforced his commitment to combatting climate change and keeping Earth "as this beautiful gem of a planet that it is."

Why it matters: Bezos, the world's richest man, said he plans to make Blue Origin and the Bezos Earth Fund — a $10 billion effort to fight climate change — his life focus moving forward.
[...]
What he's saying: "We have to build a road to space so our kids can build a future," Bezos, who successfully traveled to space on a Blue Origin flight alongside his brother and two other passengers, told MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle.
[...]
"We need to take all heavy industry, all polluting industry, and move it into space. And keep Earth as this beautiful gem of a planet that it is. That's going to take decades to achieve, but you have to start. And big things start with small steps."
https://www.axios.com/bezos-space-flight-climate-change-cd9e2c36-63d2-4dcd-a4b5-94c0cb03a896.html

Imagine, for a brief moment, all the pollution it would take to actually transport heavy industry into space, constantly transport raw materials, and then transport the products back to Earth (and then fly the empty transport ship back into space)... Bezos and Western Civilization need to be destroyed immediately. The $10 billion he is going to invest into nonsensical sustainability propaganda is going to do incalculable harm to the environmentalist movement.

The majority of comments on the article are pointing out the obvious. This will probably change after Bezos starts his "Earth Fund" propaganda, which I imagine will be really effective (just look at how megalomaniac Elon Musk has been very successful in the PR department just by posting memes or something).

Space is already polluted.

Quote
As of October 2019, the US Space Surveillance Network reported nearly 20,000 artificial objects in orbit above the Earth,[8] including 2,218 operational satellites.[9] However, these are just the objects large enough to be tracked. As of January 2019, more than 128 million pieces of debris smaller than 1 cm (0.4 in), about 900,000 pieces of debris 1–10 cm, and around 34,000 of pieces larger than 10 cm (3.9 in) were estimated to be in orbit around the Earth.[7] When the smallest objects of artificial space debris (paint flecks, solid rocket exhaust particles, etc.) are grouped with micrometeoroids, they are together sometimes referred to by space agencies as MMOD (Micrometeoroid and Orbital Debris). Collisions with debris have become a hazard to spacecraft; the smallest objects cause damage akin to sandblasting, especially to solar panels and optics like telescopes or star trackers that cannot easily be protected by a ballistic shield.[10]

Welp, they are already beginning to decode what bird's brainwaves mean, and can use AI algorithms to reconstruct a bird's song using its brainwaves. How long until they can do this to humans? Human's vocal muscles probably move in sync with our thoughts, similar to the birds.

Quote
We are moving away from focusing completely on the brain and neurons, and also paying attention to biomechanics, where the information of the nervous system is processed,” says Doppler. “This is a powerful idea. In some cases, looking at the biomechanics can give you insights that are not so clear in the nervous system.”
[...]
In the second study, a team led by Alan Bush, also a physicist in Mindlin’s group, found that they could manipulate the birds into flexing their vocal muscles by playing them versions of their own songs while they slept—a form of harmonic hypnosis. Bush was eager to study the patterns of how muscles actually fired in slumber. To him, the vocal organ is not just a puppet carrying out the brain’s set of master instructions—rather, it’s a creative liaison between brain and behavior that may add its own bells and whistles to the final product. “A lot of the complexity of the system is actually coming from the periphery, where the muscles are,” he explains.

Bush and his colleagues discovered that when the muscles are coaxed into activity, they behave in an all-or-nothing fashion. When played snippets of themselves trilling out tunes, the birds’ muscles would reliably twitch. Even synthetic versions of these songs, remixed in the lab, could sometimes elicit vocal organ responses. Often, the muscles were still—but when they were goaded into flexing, they would carry out the complete firing sequence of a vocalization.

This study describes an AI algorithm they used to be able to 'decode' a bird's brainwaves into a song. (At the end of the paper there are sound files demonstrating the algorithm).

Quote
Songbirds are an attractive model for learned complex vocal behavior. Birdsong shares a number of unique similarities with human speech and its study has yielded general insight into multiple mechanisms and circuits behind learning, execution, and maintenance of vocal motor skill. In addition, the biomechanics of song production bear similarity to those of humans and some nonhuman primates. Here, we demonstrate a vocal synthesizer for birdsong, realized by mapping neural population activity recorded from electrode arrays implanted in the premotor nucleus HVC onto low-dimensional compressed representations of song, using simple computational methods that are implementable in real time. Using a generative biomechanical model of the vocal organ (syrinx) as the low-dimensional target for these mappings allows for the synthesis of vocalizations that match the bird’s own song. These results provide proof of concept that high-dimensional, complex natural behaviors can be directly synthesized from ongoing neural activity.

Of course, who needs to read thoughts when they can just make everything up in order to frame or discredit an individual. First, Western Civilization gave us machine algorithms to make "deepfakes", then it made machine algorithms to detect "deepfakes", and next someone will study the detector's algorithm to make new algorithms that are undetectable by it. Or just bribe whichever companies own the detector algorithms to 'certify' whether a fake thing is real or a real thing is fake.

Machine minds! More scientist types need to get some intestinal fortitude and speak up and out against the Western materialist worldview of their fellow's who hold such views, especially in academia. Many seem to believe the materialist Western worldview is coming to an end, but I wonder how this will happen if so few scientists who oppose the materialist worldview do not speak out against it before it's too late?

According to the poll, just over half of scientists (51%) believe in some form of deity or higher power; specifically, 33% of scientists say they believe in God, while 18% believe in a universal spirit or higher power. By contrast, 95% of Americans believe in some form of deity or higher power, according to a survey of the general public conducted by the Pew Research Center in July 2006. Specifically, more than eight-in-ten Americans (83%) say they believe in God and 12% believe in a universal spirit or higher power. Finally, the poll of scientists finds that four-in-ten scientists (41%) say they do not believe in God or a higher power, while the poll of the public finds that only 4% of Americans share this view.
